Great, ENTRY-LEVEL position for someone either still in school, or someone who has their high school diploma or GED

This is a Full Time position--40 hours a week, Day Shift.

  • Looking for someone to be available to work various hours including: 7am-3pm, 11am-7:30pm, 10:30am-7:00pm, 5:30am-2:00pm

 

General Job Duties: To provide a high quality dining experience to patients which meets their nutritional requirements and service expectations. The Nutritional Assistant acts as the liaison between patients and Foods and Nutrition through daily patient visits for coordinating patient nutritional needs between nursing units, dieticians, as well as kitchen staff. The Nutritional Assistant is responsible for assembling trays, delivering meal trays, nourishment delivery and floor stock delivery.

  • Safety and sanitation when entering patients' rooms or kitchen.
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously especially during peak hours.

Ability to move 50 pounds. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Accountabilities:

  • Participates in QA/CQI documentation process. Takes Temperatures to ensure proper food temps are achieved.
  • Provides high quality patient service in assembling trays, distributing patient trays, retrival of patient trays, delivery of nourishments and floor sock.
  • Takes calls from patients and nursing units.
  • Complies with dietary restrictions, (based on the diet ordered by the patient's physician) allergies, dislikes, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences.
  • Utilizes 'Just for You' call system and Care Connection/ CBord information for patient care.
  • Participation in area huddles, inservices, training, orientation and meetings.
