Established by physicians in 1922, Dreyer Medical Clinic is an affiliate of Advocate Health Care.  With more than 170 physicians representing nearly 30 different medical specialties, Dreyer offers a full range of ancillary services within its facilities and the support of over 60 allied health professionals.  Dreyer has 13 convenient sites located in Aurora, Batavia, Hinckley, North Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville, Plainfield and St. Charles.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Athletic Training
  • Current Illinois licensure or eligible
  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge in spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Completion of Orthopaedic Technologist Certification within 12 months from hire date
  • Must be able to successfully complete clinic~based training for all associates.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Frequent periods of extended standing and sitting.
  • Possible lifting and assisting of patients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and parents
  • Highly energetic, motivated, resourceful and self~directed.
  • Ability and flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously well organized.
  • Strong ability to motivate others to initiate behavior change.

  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

This health care professional will collaborate with other health care disciplines in order to provide quality and continuity of care. The Physician Extender provides direct and indirect care under the supervision and direction of a Physician.
