Position Requirements:
Masters degree in Audiology from an accredited school

Licensed or eligible for license in Illinois
CPR Certification BCLS

CFY eligible
Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by professional standards
Good interpersonal skills and communication.
Competent knowledge in a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques.
Recognition of needs and behaviors of specific age group
Required to work evening hours and possibly weekend hours as needed

Lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases
Direct contact with bodily fluids
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time
Speaks English clearly, intelligibly, and fluently
Ability to handle equipment and amplification devices
Ability to read gauges and diagnostic printouts from equipment

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
Responsible for comprehensive patient care for patients of all ages, including evaluation and treatment of hearing and balance, dispensing hearing aids and other listening devices, and documentation of test results and treatment. Complies with all standards set forth by state, federal and local laws and other regulatory agencies. Is held accountable for compliance with all Advocate Bromenn policies and procedures, particularly those dealing with discriminatory acts. Displays the philosophy and values of the organization through daily behavior. Puts the mission statement into practice.
