OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST, Outpatient, Part time,  AdvocateAurora Health Care, Advocate Sherman Hospital, Algonquin, Illinois

  • Position is two 10-hours days (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.).

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or above from an accredited school.
  • **Outpatient Orthopedic/hands/splinting is required**
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in outpatient orthopedic/hands/splinting is required as individual will be sole occupational therapist practicing at site.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Competent in a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques
  • Recognizes needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated
  • OTR/L - Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
  • CPR certification ~May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases
  • Direct contact with body fluids
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients
  • Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Full time/part time staff coming on board at Advocate Sherman Hospital have the minimum requirement of working one weekend shift per month and one holiday per year in the inpatient setting.
  • Associates hired specifically for the outpatient setting must be available to work until 7:00 p.m. two evenings per week in adjunct to the inpatient rehab requirement aforementioned).


Provides direct occupational therapy services to patients of all ages who are referred to the department. Selects appropriate evaluation procedures and develops individualized treatment programs to restore or maximize each patient's functional skills.
