Bachelors degree Athletic Training or related degree.
0-1 year part or full time progressive experience in a sports medicine, therapeutic or athletic training environment
CPRAED
NATA certified
Illinois licensed or eligible
Strong communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Basic understanding of exercise physiology, therapeutic exercise prescriptions, kinesiotherapy, kinesiology, human anatomy, athletic training and rehabilitation.
Basic computer knowledge in spreadsheet and word processing.

Job Description:

The On/Call Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, care and treatment of sports related injuries and illness sustained by student athletes within the contracted high school, college or university settings. Under the provisions of the Illinois Athletic Trainers Practice Act, they shall maintain an ethical and professional medical environment consistent withthe standards of care established by the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Advocate Condell Medical Center and Advocate Condell Sports Medicine.
Accountabilities:
1. The On/Call Athletic Trainer shall remain a member in good standing of the National Athletic Trainers Association at all times and must provide care consistent with the Illinois Athletic Trainers Pratice Act and the policies and procedures of Advocate Condell Medical Center and Advocaste Condell Sports Medicine
2. Secondary interdepartmental activities are productive activities that may fall outside of the contractual obligations of any assigned school or venue. As an On/Call Athletic Trainer, one may be assigned to multiple schools within a pay period and for only a matter of hours at a time.
