Job Description:

To provide supervision and operational support to the Radiology Department Technologists and support personnel. Facilitates operational efficiency through the appropriate scheduling of personnel and department resources. Maintains customer satisfaction through continuous assessment of services rendered. Performs radiographic positioning, imaging, and patient care activities for the 70,000 annual exams performed in Radiology. Performs these activities on a timely basis, in keeping with patient and reimbursement incentives for protracted stay in the hospital. Also, performs with minimum repeat frequency and maximized shielding to assist cost control and patient/referring physician perceptions.
Accountabilities:
1. Understand the operation, technique factors, and idiosyncrasies of function of 14 most commonly used radiographic systems in department.
2. Operate all equipment in a consistent and professional manner, with appropriate respect for patient dose and image quality (demonstrated by adequate collimation/shielding and low repeat rate).
3. Perform procedure setup/support/cleanup functions to permit the smooth performance of all radiographic studies.
4. Bill all patient exams by means of Allegra System, downtime requisitions; enter data in department software to help track room utilization and staffing needs.
5. Support emergency care of department patients.
6. Perform associated transport/clerical duties as needed.
