Ability to interpret basic EKG rhythm.
12 months of arrhythmia interpretation (preferred).
High school diploma or equivalent plus
EMT-P
Functioned as MT or EMT-P
CPR Certification
Successful completion of Basic EKG exam prior to hire.
Job Description:
To observe, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms as seen on the centralized telemetry EKG monitors and to ensure prompt interpretation and notification of changes in heart rhythm to the appropriate staff. To utilize critical thinking skills to initiate emergency response system upon determination of possible lethal rhythm.
Accountabilities:
1. Continuously monitor and interpret EKGs of patients on telemetry.
2. Maintain equipment and supplies
3. Orient new personnel to operation of the monitoring/arrhythmia system, as well as review interpretation of rhythm strips.
4. Participation in performance improvement initiatives as requested
5. Dispatch for the Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Team.
