Job Description:

Ensure cost effective coordination and continuity of quality patient care within unit in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team, provides direction and support in the achievement and monitoring of identified patient outcomes for a defined patient population. To support the clinical and management leadership role by participating in implementation of the nursing process, staff development, and enhancement of the quality of patient care. Presents self as a nurse/patient advocate, mentor and leader. Assists manager in the 24-hour clinical operations of the unit, including hiring, evaluation, mentoring and retention of Associates.
Accountabilities:
1. Customer Satisfaction:Ensures that customer satisfaction strategies of the unit align with the Trinity and Advocate Strategic Vision
2. Quality: Utilizes the continuous quality improvement process to assess outcomes. Contributes to the design and implementation of improved processes to achieve quality and superior patient care and service.
3. People Growth: Responsible for self development (professional and personal) and the development of Associates within the unit.
4. Organizational Climate: Develops an environment within the unit that supports management philosophy, Trinity Hospital strategic plans and Advocate Healthcare strategies.
5. Innovation: Facilitates innovation efforts to maximize excellence and build respect for services.
6. Productivity: Responsible for overall assessment of productivity outcomes of the unit and for instituting improvement measures.
7. Economics: Accountable for the overall cost containment and business growth initiatives of Trinity Hospital as it relates to a given unit.
