Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or healthcare-related field required, Masters degree preferred

10-12+ years of management engineering/industrial engineering or health care consulting experience in work measurement methods, analysis, and process improvements.

3-5 years consulting experience preferred.

Lean and/or Six Sigma trained green or black belt.

Minimum 1-3 years of hospital operations experience.

Self-directed, minimal supervision required.

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

Job Description:

To define the direction for performance improvements and lead operations improvement and business process enhancement initiatives at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Position encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, and execution for a range of critical, multi-dimensional strategic initiatives that will require planning and analysis for a broad array of complex clinical and operational issues. Position will be responsible for developing metrics to successfully track improvement. Responsibilities of the position, include operational and clinical improvement initiatives in order to improve cost position, productivity, efficiency, quality, customer service, patient safety, and overall performance. Position is accountable for educating and coaching site leaders, managers and associates.

Accountabilities:
1. Plans, directs and coordinates operations improvement initiative for ALGH.
2. Manages and provides implementation support for process and operations improvement initiatives. Responsible for creating and delivering customized project plans and project charters and ensuring timely and effective execution of implementation plans and measurable returns.
3. Oversees business operations functions within clinical arena.
4. Participates in the organization's planning and reporting activities. In collaboration with operations and clinical services, sets goals for the operations improvement and business operations function.
5. Ensures effective communication and relations with peers, senior leadership, and all Advocate functions.
