• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related healthcare field, in Health Science, Administration, Business Administration or related field.
• 5-7 years experience in management.
• 5 years Radiology experience.
• This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of the variety of age groups treated, i.e., understanding child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior, and look for signs of normal aging. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
• Active membership and participation in professional associations.

Job Description:

The Director of Medical Imaging is responsible for the direction, coordination, planning and management of all operational activities, administration functions, physician relations and personnel for the following areas; Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, CT, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Grayslake Radiology/Lab and Condell Imaging Center with consultative responsibilities in Mammography. The incumbent serves as an internal consultant to hospital and corporate administration, nursing and ancillary and support services departments relative to imaging services and seeks to strengthen financial performance, increase market share and administratively support the hospitals operating and strategic plans in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines. Oversees major IS/PACS systems within Medical Imaging.

Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for organizing, directing, and planning the administrative and clinical activities of the above designated areas.
2. Participates with the development of short and long range business and strategic plans for the hospital.
3. Responsible for effective financial management within areas of responsibility.
4. Responsible for human resource management within area.
5. Development and ongoing maintenance of collaborative relationships with department managers, directors, physicians, system wide contacts, and related external contacts in order to meet program objectives.
6. Ensures that all sections develop and implement policies, procedures and standards of practice to ensure compliance with all standards required by Advocate Healthcare System, Accreditation agencies, legal, clinical practices and regulatory requirements.
