Knowledge of basic phlebotomy technique and the use of vacutainers, needles, and syringes. Basic familiarity with CRT s and keyboards. Exceptional patient relation skills. High School diploma or equivalent. 1 year phlebotomy experience. OR
1 years cardiology experience preferred. 2 to 3 years total experience. Certification for PBT (ASCP). Valid Drivers License. CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

This position is located within the Outpatient Pavilion at Good Shepherd Hospital, 30 minutes Northwest of Woodfield Mall.

The current shift assignment for this position is working 3pm-7pm 5 days per week and every third Saturday.

Job Description:

Provides accurate, timely, and customer-focused collection and processing of laboratory specimens to ensure cost-effective laboratory testing for patients of Good Shepherd Hospital and its associates.
Accountabilities:
1. Collection of Patient specimens to maintain high quality patient care.
2. Perform and assist noninvasive electrocardiography cardiology services
3. Processes incoming laboratory orders and specimens in a customer-focused cost-effective manner to ensure quality patient care results.
4. Timely reporting of patient results and collection logs to maintain quality patient care.
5. Actively participates in CQI and Customer Focus activities within the department.
6. Maintains a minimum level of competency on policies and procedures.
7. Serves as Physician Office Courier.
8. Maintains work area.
