High School Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of 40 hours basic security training. Valid Illinois Driver s License. Firearms Owner s Identification Card.
Certificate by the City of Chicago Police Department for a Special Police.
Certificate by the Department of Professional Regulations in security training.
Job Description:
Provide protection and safety to all patients, visitors, staff, employees, equipment, and the facility of the hospital.
Accountabilities:
1. PRODUCTIVITY Responsibility of assigned post, patrols, surveillance of the hospital complex, and report any and all unusual occurrences. Periodically reports all locations.
2. ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE. Responsibility of monitoring entry and exit points; inspection of identification cards, packages, parcel, and bags.
3. INNOVATION Responsibility of responding to all emergencies, such as chemical hazards, fire alarms, response plan, etc. Assist fire-fighting agencies. Assist in patient/employee relocation including partial or total evacuation of the hospital complex.
4. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Responsibility of responding to service calls, including securing and unsecuring doors.
5. QUALITY Responsibility of maintaining departmental equipment in good repair. Upkeep of uniform and accessories. Maintain current valid Illinois driver s license, FOI card and Special Police Certification.
