Experienced in advanced respiratory care modalities and equipment.
Posses good communication skills, clinical problem solving skills, and interpersonal and team building skills.
Must work well under stressful conditions.
Recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner. Graduation from an AMA or JRCTE accredited program is required.
Licensed to be a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the IDPR.
Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care is required. Current CPR certification is a must.
Job Description:
To perform respiratory care Modalities under the direction of the department s Medical Director. The practitioner must adapt to the particular area of duty assignment and must be able to perform special duties required by the assignment. To evaluate each person and design a Pulmonary Rehab program to fit participants needs and to attempt to return the participant to the highest possible functional capacity allowed by his/her pulmonary handicap and overall life situation. POLICY: The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program will staff respiratory therapists who will be responsible for implementing the respiratory regimen and assisting with pulmonary participant support. Accountabilities: 1. To provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation to customers in accordance with department standards and policies. 2. Develop, implement, and revise respiratory care plans that meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient. 3. Collaborate with attending medical staff, nursing, and other ancillary departments in implementing a comprehensive care plan leading to a successful outcome of the patient condition. 4. Participate in staff meetings, inservices, and CQI activities in order to improve patient care, establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with other members of the patient care team. 5. Support, promote, revise, and comply with the polices of the department, the hospital, and Advocate Health Care.
