Minimim Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. or equivalent for up to .6
Prefer M.Div or Equivalency
Ecclesiastical endorsement for chaplaincy.
A minimum of four units of CPE, ACPE.
Since this position is designated for a Catholic Priest, Certifiable by NACC within in three years.
Prefer candidates who are already NACC certified.
Job Description:
This position is designated for a Catholic Priest.
To provide pastoral care, support and spiritual counseling to patients, families, associates, physicians in an ecumenical environment. To provide consultation and education leadership relevant to mission and spiritual care and ethical issues and decision making within the facility and in the community.
Accountabilities:
1. Deliverance of a wholistic ministry of pastoral care and sacraments for patients, families, physicians and associates.
2. Participation in the life and work of the department to assure integrated efficient services.
3. Participation in grand rounds, case conferences, teams meetings, identifying resolving ethical dilemmas in assigned areas.
4. Support of the Advocate mission, values and philosophy in areas of clinical responsibilities.
5. Participation in educational initiatives and support groups for patients and families, hospital staff, community and church groups.
6. Maintenance of good standing and ecclesiastical endorsement through active participation in the life and work of one's faith group.
