• CPR Certification
• If degreed healthcare practitioner, certification/licensure in behavioral health.
•Licensed Social Worker preferred
•Licensed Professional Counselor preferred
•Registered Professional Nurse or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or related field preferred
•Five years experience working in crisis work and/or hospital environment in a psychiatric environment.
• Knowledge of Illinois State law regarding mental health patients and admitting procedures.
• Knowledge of DSM-IV-R diagnostic categories.
• This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs or normal aging, prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
• Good organizational skills.
• Communication skills.
• Ability to deal with conflict.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under stressful situations and exercise appropriate intervention.

Job Description:

To provide crisis telecounseling face-to-face evaluation and referral for appropriate Behavioral health Services. To schedule and coordinate admissions for patients hospitalized and for partial and outpatient programs for psychosocial, substance abuse and/or psychiatric conditions in accordance with medical necessity and in compliance with standards established by state law and Hospital policy.
