Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
CPR certification.

Good communication skills.

Ability to assess, plan and intervene and evaluate the physical, emotional and education needs of patients.

Must be able to successfully complete clinic-based training for all associates.

Ability to work with all levels of personnel.

Ability to work under stressful situations.

Frequent periods of extended standing and sitting. Possible lifting and assisting of patients.

- In addition to general nursing requirements:
- 1 year experience in Women’s Health.
- Patient teaching skills
- Exhibits sterile technique and ability to assist with department specific procedures such as colposcopies, cyrotherapy, circumcisions, and loop electrosurgical excision procedure.
- Demonstrates competency in performing fetal monitoring via non stress testing including knowledge of reactive vs. non-reactive strips.
- Demonstrates ability to accurately complete new OB history on prenatal flow sheet.
- Demonstrates ability to accurately assess Fetal Heart Tones via Doppler.
- Demonstrates ability to competently perform urine pregnancy testing and uristix testing for albumin and sugar via lab protocols.

Ability to type a minimum of 25 wpm with good accuracy.

This position may need to recognize needs and behaviors of age groups of patients treated; in this case, prior experience with such age groups is required.

Job Description:

PURPOSE: To provide for the direct and indirect nursing care of patients in accordance with the nursing process In the OB/Gyn Department at Dreyer Medical Clinic. This nurse will collaborate with other health care disciplines in order to provide quality and continuity of care.

SHIFT TIMES RANGE FROM:
8-5
9-6
10-7
Saturdays 8-12.
NOTE: Often travels between OB locations. Rush Copley, Mercy or Oswego.
