Job Description:
To render highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. Provides direct or indirect initial patient care requiring evaluative judgement, specialized knowledge, and professional nursing skills. Collaborates with physician and multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care.
Accountabilities:
1. Provision of continuous and accurate patient care for those assigned patients in accordance with department standards of quality care consistent with accepted standards of practice of JCAHO, IDPH, and Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Nurse Practice Act, and regulatory agencies.
2. Responsible for supporting, demonstration, and integrating the mission and philosophy, objectives and goals of Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Health Care.
3. Responsible for utilizing the nursing process which includes developing, Implementing and updating comprehensive patient plan of care to meet the patient s psychological, spiritual and social needs, with subsequent evaluation of patient response to nursing interventions. Participate in ongoing patient discharge planning.
4. In cooperation with the Program Manager, responsible for detailed planning and organization, development and direction of Group Activities Program.
5. Ensure a secure and safe patient environment by maintaining continuous awareness of safety hazards.
6. Development of leadership skills and professionalism for self through participation in department and/or hospital based committees and continuing education programs.
7. Promotion of Performance Improvement by maintaining awareness, monitoring, and implementing cost-effective practices that directly impact Procedure Center operations.
