• Masters degree in Nursing • 10 years progressive leadership experience in health care • Graduate of accredited school of nursing • 5 years experience in managing multiple departments and service lines. • This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups. The incumbent will need to be familiar with normal growth and development issues, normal patterns of behavior and signs of the normal aging process. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred. • Current RN license in the State of Illinois
Job Description:
The Chief Nurse Executive is accountable for professional nursing practice and nursing performance improvement throughout all areas of the hospital in which licensed nurses practice (inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory settings). This includes responsibility for defining nursing care and establishing the division of nursing scope of service; developing individual scopes of service and staffing plans of all departments in which nursing care is delivered; development of patient care programs, clinical pathways and departmental policies and procedures that describe how nursing care needs of patients are assessed, evaluated and met. This position is responsible for the Nursing Strategic Plan.
To create an environment for the delivery of nursing services that is characterized by responsiveness, internal integration, fiscal responsibility and high quality associate relations by empowering staff participation in decision making. Acts as chief (non-physician) clinical officer of the institution.
