• Outstanding presentation and writing skills. • Strong project management skills. • Excellent leadership skills including group facilitation skills, awareness of organizational and political dynamics, and team leadership. • Strong industry understanding and awareness. • Strong analytic skills as evidenced by ability to develop analytic frameworks and conceptual models for various planning activities. • Ability to frame strategic issues for multiple constituents including senior management and governance. • MBA/MHA or equivalent degree. • 6 years experience in related area (i.e. marketing, strategic planning, finance) with a national management consulting firm or health care organization and/or: • Superior performance as a Senior Planning Associate.
Job Description:
To assist senior management at Advocate Health Care in making strategic and business development decisions by providing consultative services including project management and strategic thought leadership. The Planning Manager will manage a portfolio of strategy and business development projects for site and system clients and will be accountable for deliverables including analyses, strategy recommendations, presentations, and business plans.
Accountabilities: 1. Manage Advocate system and site strategy and business development projects and provide strategic thought leadership to various internal clients including Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Director, Strategic Planning, Site Business Development VP/Director, and other site and system senior leadership as assigned. Examples of projects include: facilitation of system strategy initiatives, management of site strategic planning processes, clinical service line business plan development, feasibility studies for major business development initiatives, environmental and competitive assessments, and evaluation of system initiatives. 2. Provide oversight, guidance and expertise to Planning Analysts regarding project management, data sources, data gathering methodologies, quantitative models and other aspects of the job. 3. Contribute to administration of Planning Department.
