- Basic computer skills - Graduation from accredited P.T. program. - 1-3 years outpatient experience with children 0-18 years of age required, in a variety of diagnostic areas including Torticollis, toe walking, Cerebral Palsy, developmental delay, hypotonia, Down Syndrome, genetic syndromes and consequences of prematurity. Knowledge of Sensory integration and Autism spectrum disorders helpful. EI certification not required, but beneficial. - Attended Basic Clinical Education Course. - Eligible for license in Illinois to practice P.T. - CPR certified.
Job Description:
To assess, plan, and implement a Physical Therapy treatment program for Pediatric patients with physical or physical/emotional disability that are referred to Physical Therapy by a physician, in order to maximize the patient's functional abilities and minimize disability.
Accountabilities: A. Perform patient evaluations and develop and coordinate the treatment planning process. B. Prepare, maintain and transmit accurate patient records including evaluation, progress, and discharge notes as well as productivity, attendance, charges, and services rendered.
C. Communicate information/observations to appropriate personnel including Occupational and Speech Therapists, Physicians, Nurses and parents/guardians.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Requires Use of Universal Precautions At Times. This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated (i.e. understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging). Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
