Good written and oral communication skills
A good understanding of the clinical hospital environment.
General knowledge of IV solutions, aseptic technique, and therapeutic agents.
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of
Pharmacy Degree.
This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging: prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License.

Job Description:

Ability to review all medication orders to determine appropriateness, safety, and efficacy of therapy. Ability to compound and dispense medications in accordance with Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations; Professional Standards; Departmental Policies and Procedures. Ability to provide clinical expertise as it relates to pharmaceutical therapy for the benefit of the professional Staff and patients of the Institution.
Accountabilities:
1. Ability to determine the appropriateness, safety and efficacy of drug therapy regimens.
2. Ability to be responsible for the compounding and dispensing of medications in accordance with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations.
3. Ability to provide clinical expertise as it relates to Pharmaceutical Therapy for the benefit of the Professional Staff and patients of the Institution.
4. Ability to provide direction and supervision of support personnel to assure efficient utilization of support Staff activities.
5. Ability to participate in the development and implementation of Departmental programs. Is active in the Quality Assessment Program and in the revision of Departmental Policies & Procedures.
6. Ability to be responsible for staying abreast of clinical (and operational) pharmaceutical developments.
7. Ability to assume other related responsibilities as assigned.
