* AS or BSN degreed graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Current Illinois nursing license
* Current oncology certification, (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Society certification process OR must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
* Current Chemotherapy - Biotherapy card.
* Minimum of 1 year nursing experience in Oncology.
* Certification in chemotherapy administration; Be willing to handle chemotherapy agents.
* Experience in IV therapy.
* Previous chemotherapy medication preparation experience a plus!
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to assess, plan and intervene and evaluate the physical, emotional and educational needs of patients.

ADDITIONAL RQUIREMENTS:
* May be exposed to hazardous substances and life-threatening diseases.
* Bilingual - Spanish a plus!

Job Description:

Dreyer Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced registered nurse for our outpatient Cancer Center located at the Mercy Campus in Aurora, Illinois. Just minutes from I88 expressway and the Route 31 exit. This unique center for cancer treatment and healing requires a registered nurse who is knowledgeable and experienced with chemo medications and IV therapy, plus able to provide the emotional comfort and encouragement that is vital to our patients. The Dreyer Cancer Center has an on-site Compound Technician but our nurses are capable of mixing chemo-medication if needed; therefore our nurses carry a current Chemo-Bio card and are certified OCN professionals!

- Rotating 50% patient treatment and 50% phone triaging; assignments bi-weekly.
- Max patient volume: 4-5 to 1. Patient daily flow: max 9 -10 patients per day.
- Holistic environment hosting music and pet therapy volunteers

HOURS: 8 hour day shifts will rotate start times. Monday through Friday.
** Start times rotate between 7:30am and 8:30am in half hour increments. Department closes at 6pm, may need flexibility to work beyond 6pm in rare cases.
