Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Minimal 1 year clinical experience - TELEMETRY or other critical care experience.

Current Illinois RN license

Current CPR

ACLS and PALS

Clinical knowledge in area of expertise.

Approval of site Clinical Advancement Board

Earn 5.0 continuing education credits annually

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Good written and verbal communication skills

Computer skills

Technical skills in the field of specialty, including use of equipment typical on a patient care unit.

Good time management and organizational skills

Have knowledge or be willing to acquire knowledge about the current healthcare environment, i.e. managed care

The RN UNIT - REGISTRY position plans and sets goals which demonstrates a holistic approach to patients/families , and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients. Assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level. Demonstrates a mastery of clinical skills.

Must meet all the requirements of the Clinical Nurse I Level.

Accountabilities:

1. Nurse/Patient Relationship: Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.

2. Assuring/Improving Quality Care: Facilitates the patient and family's right to receive quality, cost effective care.

3. Patient/Staff Education: Demonstrates a commitment to meeting the learning needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate resources to meet those needs and achieve positive patient outcomes. Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers and colleagues.

4. Nursing Process: Demonstrates the use of nursing process as a problem-solving model.
