This registry position would be for day and/or PM shift. Minimum requirement of 4 days/month (2 of which are weekends)

High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of previous laboratory experience including phlebotomy.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of test codes, specimen collection, etc.
This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred
CPR Certification within 6 months of employment
ASCP Certified Phlebotomist.

Job Description:

To collect blood specimens from patients housed in Critical Care and Med/Surg Units in a manner that is technically appropriate, cost effective and patient focused, according to approved departmental policies and procedures.
Accountabilities:
1. Collects blood specimens from patients in accordance with accepted laboratory standards and policies and to ensure optimal specimen and accurate test results.
2. Performs point of care testing according to established procedures.
3. Maintains and stocks the work area.
