Completion of phlebotomy training program.
Eligibility for certification.

Job Description:

To collect blood specimens from patients in a manner that is technically appropriate, cost effective and patient focused, according to approved departmental policies and procedures.
Accountabilities:
1. Collects blood specimens from patients in accordance with accepted laboratory standards and policies and procedures in order to ensure optimal specimen integrity and accurate test results.
2. Triages and processes specimen efficiently and accurately according to policy and procedure. (Site specific).
3. Performs glucose and template bleeding time tests according to established procedures.
4. Maintains and stocks the work area.
5. Safety Practice: at all times.
