Primary Location: 836 W. Wellington, Chicago, IL
Advanced knowledge of E/M auditing, ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding.
2-4 years of relevant coding experience and
completion of a two or four year degree, preferably in a coding related field (i.e.. Health Information Management)or
7 years of relevant coding experience with coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC and achieve a satisfactory score on an internal coding test.
Job Description:
The Coding Specialist II should have advanced E/M auditing skills and be able to conduct physician coding education to providers and associates.
Must be able to present results and recommendations to physicians, non-physician providers, and other clinical staff.
Must be able to travel to multiple physician practice locations.
Must be well-versed in applicable coding guidelines, third party payer requirements, governmental regulations, and pertinent coding/billing policies and procedures.
Must be able to perform data analysis of CPT and ICD-9-CM code usage by physicians including utilization patterns, volume of services, peer comparison, and trending.
