Job Description:

To assist in providing quality patient care in a manner which is patient focused, technically appropriate and cost effective. The Nursing Care Technician works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in accordance with the standards of practice, within the guidelines of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and the mission and philosophy of Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The Nursing Care Technician works in collaboration with the Registered Nurse as a partner in care of patients. The Nursing Care Tehnician recognizes the needs and behaviors of patients and various age groups and provides care in a manner that is age appropriate. The Nursing Care Tehnician strives for quality patient care, which assures the customer is treated in a holistic manner with dignity and respect.
Accountabilities:
1. Provides all customers with appropriate services to meet their needs to assist the team in achieving success in their customer satisfaction strategies
2. Provides quality patient care duties within the scope defined by hospital policy and that are specific to the patient population served and as directed by the registered nurse
3. Responsible for self development and development of practice team skills.
4. Participates in an environment within the health team that supports the management philosophy, ANSHN Hospital strategic plans and Advocate Healthcare strategies.
5. Contributes to the practice, department and hospital innovation efforts to maximize excellence and build respect for services
6. Participates in implementation improvements to practice team productivity
