Job Description:

To provide quality care to patients in a manner which is patient focused, technically appropriate and cost effective. The Patient Care Associate works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in accordance with accepted standards of practice, within the guidelines of the Illinois Nursing Practice Act and the Mission and Philosophy of Advocate Health Care.

The Patient Care Associate works in collaboration with the RN as a partner in the care, treatment and education of patients. The Patient Care Assistant recognizes the needs and behaviors of patients of various age groups and provides care in a manner that is age appropriate. The Patient Care Assistant strives for patient-centered care which assures the patient is treated holistically with dignity and respect.

The Patient Care Associate ensures compliance with rehabilitation goals, objectives, policies and procedures as well as applicable standards, i.e., CARF and JCAHO.
