Clinically appropriate skills Good human/customer relations skills Good problem solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Previous computer skills 1 year experience in a health care provider office preferred or completed externship in occupational health Certificated Medical Assistant through American Associate of Medical Assistants Inc.. or the Registry of the American Medical Technologists, Inc.
This position is registry and will provide supplemental staffing at Advocate occupational health. The ideal candidate will be able to work at our Elk Grove Village, Niles, and Lake Zurich office.
Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the health care provider, provides quality patient care, both direct and indirect. Works with health care provider(s) and staff as needed to provide comprehensive clinical support to the health care provider(s). Participates in practice development and continuous quality improvement. Performs clerical duties on an as needed basis. Accountabilities: 1. Supports and promotes the philosophy and objectives of Advocate Occupational Health and complies with the policies of Advocate Health Care 2. Collection of subjective and objective data provided by patient or health care provider or through observation, in order to determine patient problems or needs. 3. Demonstration of basic skills in technical areas such as phlebotomy, specimen collection and medication administration. 4. Responsible for quality day-to-day care of patients by demonstrating basic patient care techniques and implementing appropriate documentation and maintenance of center environment. 5. Participates in educational activities to increase professional competencies. 6. Assist front desk, when time permits.
