Job Description:
Current opening for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Behavioral Health/Psychiatric.
Illinois Masonic Medical Center is part of Advocate Health Care, one of the top health systems in the country and the largest fully integrated health care delivery system in Illinois. A 551-licensed bed teaching hospital that serves the health care and wellness need of Chicago's north and northwest sides. One of only four Level I trauma centers in Chicago, the highest designation awarded by the state with trauma surgeons and nurses who treat those with critical injuries. A 30-bed neonatal intensive care unit and Level III perinatal center, the highest designation by the stat, provides the most sophisticated care to high-risk mothers and babies. Thirty four intensive care unit beds which have around-the-clock simultaneous audio and video monitoring of ICU patients by board-certified critical care specialists through the electronic intensive care unit (eICU) care program.
A shared governance program involves the bedside nurse in decision making that relate to their clinical practice. It is a model in which nurses' input is important and valued, and patient care is improved. STEPs, a clinical ladder program, recognizes and rewards professional nursing practitioners engaged in direct patient care at all levels of development, from novice to expert.

The Dyad Model of Practice is a model that combines a partnership of Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist to achieve the goal of optimal outcomes for the patient population in a cost-effective manner. In addition to providing direct patient care, Clinical Nurse Specialists at AIMMC will assess and develop staff competency by establishing standards of patient care, implementing evidence-based practice and promoting the advancement of professional nursing practice. This will occur through education, role modeling, research, and implementation of new technology.
