Job Description:

Current opening for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Behavioral Health/Psychiatric.

Illinois Masonic Medical Center is part of Advocate Health Care, one of the top health systems in the country and the largest fully integrated health care delivery system in Illinois. A 551-licensed bed teaching hospital that serves the health care and wellness need of Chicago's north and northwest sides.

One of only four Level I trauma centers in Chicago, the highest designation awarded by the state with trauma surgeons and nurses who treat those with critical injuries. A 30-bed neonatal intensive care unit and Level III perinatal center, the highest designation by the stat, provides the most sophisticated care to high-risk mothers and babies. Thirty four intensive care unit beds which have around-the-clock simultaneous audio and video monitoring of ICU patients by board-certified critical care specialists through the electronic intensive care unit (eICU) care program.

A shared governance program involves the bedside nurse in decision making that relate to their clinical practice. It is a model in which nurses' input is important and valued, and patient care is improved. STEPs, a clinical ladder program, recognizes and rewards professional nursing practitioners engaged in direct patient care at all levels of development, from novice to expert.

In addition to providing direct patient care, Clinical Nurse Specialists at AIMMC will assess and develop staff competency by establishing standards of patient care, implementing evidence-based practice and promoting the advancement of professional nursing practice. This will occur through education, role modeling, research, and implementation of new technology.
