Strong human relations, leadership, team management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to facilitate diverse groups/teams. Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission standards and requirements. Ability to analyze, interpret and display data. Excellent organizational skills. Advanced presentation skills. Knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques. Proficiency in Windows environment, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and ability to readily develop proficiency in any soft wear programs necessary to the position.
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or equivalent. Minimum of five years recent experience in Joint Commission preparation and coordination in a hospital setting. Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement theory and statistics. Previous hands-on experience with patient tracers strongly recommended.
Job Description:
Coordinate the functions and activities related to regulatory compliance; to work through and with leadership, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary departments to develop understanding and accountability for regulatory compliance. Oversee the development of policies and procedures and strategies to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies.
Objectively and systematically assess, monitor, evaluate and improve the processes that affect the quality of patient care, ensuring compliance with:
Advocate Mission, Values and Philosophy Medical Staff by-laws, rules, and regulations Advocate policies Regulatory standards
Accountabilities: 1. Development and implementation of processes to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, federal, state and agency regulations, standards, and laws. 2. Provide leadership, direction and coordination of The Joint Commission continuous readiness process. 3. Act as chairperson of the Regulatory Standards Committee. 4. Represent Good Shepherd Hospital on Systemwide Regulatory Council. 5. Monitor compliance with accrediting bodies, federal, state and agency regulations. 6. Investigate and coordinate hospitalwide response to patient complaints received via regulatory agencies (TJC, IDPH).
