Working at S.Downers and some flex coverage at Good Samaritan Hospital and Woodridge locations. Must be flexible.
South Downers hours:
Alternate Saturday and Sundays 11:30 am - 8pm and/or 3pm - 8pm.
Outgoing, high level of energy and customer service oriented. Positive attitude.
Ability to proficiently communicate and interact with the public, physicians, and associates.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with a high level of empathy, tact, and poise.
Knowledge of general office equipment (computer, photocopier, fax, and multi-line telephone.)
Ability to transcribe medical information.
Ability to multitask and perform in a flexible manner.
Ability to type while interviewing.
Must demonstrate a high level of customer awareness and a strong commitment to fulfilling customer needs.
Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve.
Ability to read, write, speak, and follow oral and written instruction.
Current knowledge of regulatory standards.
Projects a mature, compassionate, positive, customer service attitude in a professional demeanor.
Works independently with flexibility
Excellent spelling , communication and interpersonal skills
High School graduate or equivalent.
Two years CRT/data entry experience preferred.
Data entry skills
2-3 years access experience preferably in an acute care setting.
Basic understanding ICD-9 and CPT coding.
Strong medical terminology background
Certified in medical terminology within six (6) months of employment.
Job Description:
Accurately collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data from multiple sources, and obtains other information necessary for registration and billing at patient bedside. Effectively screens for compliance with payer requirements. Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure that patients and their representatives needs are met.
Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for accurate and complete pre-registration and registration information in a timely and cost-effective manner.
