* Ability to interpret documents such as, but not limited to encounter forms, medical records, physician documentation, lab reports, dictated reports, operating instructions, and policy/procedure manuals. * Knowledge of medical and insurance reimbursement, ICD 9, and CPT coding, disease processes, and medical terminology. * Ability to interview people to obtain basic information. * Ability to write correspondence proficiently. * Ability to interact with all levels of health care team professionally. * Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and concrete variables in standardized situations. * Ability to work independently. Ability to meet deadlines and goals. * Effective and professional communications skills. * Ability to handle high volume and multiple tasks. * Previous auditing/chart reviews experience. * Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management. * Four or more years related experience in coding. * Current RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P certification * Ability to travel to various site locations as needed
Job Description:
The Lead Auditor is responsible for functioning as a liaison between the Physicians and the Finance Department. The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to revenue capture, Medicare Risk Adjustable education, providing coding support and input to the auditing staff, quality assurance efforts, and resolving complex edits.
The Lead Auditor promotes consistency and accuracy of AMG coding and documentation practices, and ensures that clinical services ordered and performed are properly documented according to medical necessity and governmental regulations.
